Jarrett Allen and Evan Mobley go to block a shot by Joel Embiid.

We sadly couldn't stay in the win column last week for the NBA, as we went 1-2 to bring us to 4-3 on the season. We're ready to get back in the win column, as there are some lines we really love today; so let's get into it.

Portland Trail Blazers vs. Charlotte Hornets

This matchup didn't initially seem too interesting for me when I first looked the other day but when I checked back in I noticed the total moving, after some research I see why. The Hornets have the most home unders in the league by percentage. The Blazers have the third-most road unders. The Hornets recently lost their second leading-scoring sophomore Brandon Miller and his 22 points-per-game for the year. The Blazers have had five unders in seven games on the second half of back-to-backs. Barring an outlier performance, the recent history of both these teams leans to the under, and it's no surprise that the line is already dropping. Get in quick (play down to 220)! Pick: Under 222.5 (-110) - 1 unit

Cleveland Cavaliers vs. Philadelphia 76ers

This matchup is easily my focus today as there are multiple lines I really like. In this game, the Cleveland Cavaliers are looking for a series sweep over the Philadelphia 76ers. We have a full injury report for both groups; despite it having some notable names the total in this game feels low. Cleveland boasts an Over/Under mark of 14-6 to cover as the away team, while Philadelphia has exceeded the number in five of its last six. The 76ers are awfully thin but I expect this game to end over the total as it has in the eight of their last 10 meetings. Next, I am looking at Jarrett Allen, as the 76ers will be without Joel Embiid. Without him Philly struggles on the glass ranking dead last in the NBA in rebounding rate and 21st in opponent rebounds per 100 possessions. Philly will also be without backup center Andre Drummond further hampering their ability to clean the glass. Allen is averaging 10.0 rebounds per game this season, despite sharing the court with fellow big man Evan Mobley. Mobley is out tonight and Allen has gone for 11 and 13 boards in the last two games without him. Lastly in this one, I will be looking at the under on Kelly Oubre’s boards line. This one caught my eyes on the season Oubre has had 6 or fewer boards in 27 of 39 games, coming out to an average of 5.8. In games without Andre Drummond, he averages even less with 5.6. In his career against Cleveland with Philly, Oubre averages 5 rebounds and over his career against Cleveland, he averages 4.5. Lastly, the Cavs allow the third fewest rebounds to opposing small forwards. Picks: Over 227.5 (-110) - 1 unit, Allen over 11.5 Rebs (+105)- 1 unit, Oubre under 6.5 Rebs (-140) - 1 unit

PARLAY OF THE DAY:

  • Portland/Charlotte Under 229.5
  • Cleveland/Philadelphia Over 220.5
  • Jarrett Allen 10+ Rebounds
  • Tyrese Maxey 20+ Points
  • Paul George 4+ Assists

    TOTAL ODDS: +264 - 0.5 Units
