Via X/Carolina Hurricanes
We are back for our weekly NHL best bets and we are due for a good week after the last few have not gone our way. Despite that, we are still 26-16 on the season. After some extra examination, I found some lines with great value for tonight so let's get into it.

Chicago Blackhawks vs. Carolina Hurricanes
newline
The Hurricanes have dominated the Blackhawks, winning seven straight matchups, including a 6-3 victory the last time these two teams met in the Lenovo Center. Carolina goaltenders have not allowed more than three goals to the Blackhawks in 13 straight games. Carolina has a significant advantage on offence, ranking in the top five in average goals scored per game, versus a near-the-bottom ranking Blackhawks. The Hurricanes rank in the Top 10 in average goals allowed per game, while the Hawks rank 29th with 3.43. The Hurricanes have excelled at home this year, winning at a 76% clip. Furthermore, the Canes just added Rantanen and Hall who seem to be fitting in quite nicely, this is an easy one for me. Pick: Carolina -1.5 (+150) - 1.5 units
Anaheim Ducks vs. Calgary Flames
This is an interesting matchup and I’ll admit I don't trust either of these teams. I initially thought this would be a stay away but after reviewing some stats, I very much like a line or two here. Firstly, they are playing in the Saddledome in Calgary, in the last 10 between these two the Flames have won eight including five of the last six. Furthermore, in the last 10 the under is 5-4-1 but in Calgary the over is 3-1. The Flames are 15-7-3 at home with a +6 goal differential as Calgary is averaging 2.65 goals per game and allowing 2.96 goals per game. Anaheim is averaging 2.54 goals per game while the Ducks are allowing 3.1 goals per game. Anaheim is 10-11-4 on the road this season. Calgary is expected to start Rookie Dustin Wolf who's 18-8-2 with a 2.56 GAA and a .915 SV%. In his career against Anaheim, he's 2-0 with a 2.47 GAA and a .900 SV%. On the other end, the Ducks seemingly will turn to Lukas Dostal who's 13-13-4 with a 2.96 GAA and a .908 SV%. In his career against Calgary, he's 1-2-1 with a 3.24 GAA and a .915 SV%. I think this will be a competitive game and is likely to stay around the total but don’t love the value of the ML straight up. Pick: Flames ML and over 3.5 goals (-145) - 1 unit
Seattle Kraken vs. San Jose Sharks:
newline
Okay hear me out here; the San Jose Sharks are coming off a feel-good win against the Pittsburgh Penguins. On the other hand, the Seattle Kraken have lost three of their last four games and just put their veteran goaltender, Philipp Grubauer, on waivers. It’s been a disappointing season for Seattle, who sit 22-27-3 and are seventh in the Pacific division. The Kraken have not been a very good team on home ice, skating to a 12-12-3 record and the Sharks are a team that can keep up with them up and down the ice. The Sharks have seemingly been improving as the season goes on and their offence is on right now, having scored 14 goals in their last four games, and I expect them to keep it rolling after a big win on Monday night and steal this one as the dogs. Pick: Sharks ML (+160) - 1 unit
newline
PARLAY OF THE DAY:
- Hurricanes ML
- Flames ML
- Jets ML
- Sharks over 1.5 goals
TOTAL ODDS: +330 - 0.5 units
