Welcome back for another edition of NHL Wednesday Winners! We're up to 14-5 on the season and looking to add a few more to the win column, so let's get into it.

Nashville Predators vs. Toronto Maple Leafs

Two teams with opposite stories so far. Despite injuries to some key players, the Leafs have excelled and are leading the Atlantic division. The Predators meanwhile brought out the Brinks truck in free agency but so far it hasn't had the desired effect as they have failed to meet expectations, especially on offense. I don’t expect their offensive issues to suddenly be solved against a Toronto who has a surprisingly stout defence this year sitting sixth on the PK and third in goals against per game. Toronto is fairly healthy, is at home, and are playing a team with multiple issues. Expect the Leafs to pull this out. PICK: Maple Leafs ML - 1.5 units

Anaheim Ducks vs. Vegas Golden Knights

I like this matchup a lot for the Knights for various reasons. Firstly Vegas has a significant offensive advantage ranking in the top five in multiple categories while Anaheim is in the bottom half of the same categories. Next, it has to be noted that the Ducks have struggled to keep pucks out of their net ranking 25th in goals against per game this year. , the Ducks aren't a great home-ice team dropping seven of their first 13 at home and Vegas is a good road team even winning three of their last four on the road. Overall most metrics support Vegas heavily here. We like them to win despite playing on Tuesday night, a 1-0 win at home over the Edmonton Oilers. PICK: Vegas 3way ML - 1 unit

Dallas Stars vs. Los Angeles Kings

Two good teams are facing off in this one but one has been battling recently as the Stars just had back-to-backs on Sunday and Monday prevailing in both (playing on Friday as well). The Kings meanwhile have been off since Saturday giving them plenty of rest for this game, an interesting disparity. On top of this, the Kings play a great defensive structure allowing the fewest shots against per game in the league so far and are fifth in goals against per game. The Stars are no defensive slouch either, having the fifth-best PK unit and sitting third in goals against per game, while also having a better offense than the Kings so far this year. I like the under here but I can't get over the rest difference so despite the fact I think the Stars are a better team. Pick(s): Under 5.5 - 1 unit and Kings ML - 1 unit
